Kristen Prather Kristen began studying dance at age seven, training in
ballet, jazz, acrobat, musical theatre, lyrical and tap at the Judy Bourn School
of Dance in Ohio where she performed both solo and ensemble pieces for
the Bourn Competition Dance Team.
While still in high school, Kristen was selected to study modern and ballet at
the University of Akron School of Dance. Through her studies, she earned a
dance-theater scholarship and attended Catawba College where she was
active in the dance program as both a performer and choreographer.
Her postgraduate performance credits include: “Unrighteous Steps” at the
American College Dance Festival Mid-Atlantic and an engagement at the
American College Dance Festival at the Kennedy Center. Kristen is
frequently a featured dancer in The Ballet Studio stage performances, as
well as a choreographer for advanced ballet and jazz. Most recently, she
staged dances for the 2017 & 2018 Nutcracker Dances and Holiday
Kristen has her Bachelors of Arts in American Politics and History from
Catawba College, and currently serves as X for Y in DC. When not teaching
or dancing you will find her training for half marathons or
engaged in a favorite pastime -- watching sports!’
