Alana Mooney, Administrative Coordinator and Level I Interim
Instructor for the Ballet Studio, joined the staff in Fall 2010 as a Dance Intern for the
Saturday Creative Movement and ITD-Ballet classes. Trained in ballet, jazz, modern
and gymnastics, Alana’s performance experience includes “A Comedic Red,” (Joy of
Motion’s Youth Choreography Showcase/Jack Guidone Theater WDC),
Soloist for the Ballet Studio’s dance concerts Great Performances and Just Dancin’,
and featured dancer for Alexandria’s Art on the Avenue 2010 celebration. Currently a
Senior at Virginia Commonwealth University, Alana is majoring in Health, Physical
Education, and Exercise Science with a concentration in Health Science. A native of
Alexandria Virginia, Alana returns home throughout the school year and is a welcomed
Interim Instructor for all classes at The Ballet Studio!

Megan Ulmer, Dance Intern for Level I Ballet, began her dance training at the Ballet
Studio at the age of four as a student in Creative Movement and Intro to
Dance-Ballet. Now a teenager,Megan continuously trained at the Ballet Studio for ten
years and is currently a triple threat dancer at the Studio studying Advance
Ballet/pointe, Jazz and Tap.
A native of Alexandria Va., Megan attends TC Williams High School and is active in
theatre and choir. As a Dance Intern assisting the Saturday Creative Movement and
Intro to Dance Ballet classes, Megan brings a unique perspective to the teaching
techniques that make ballet, jazz and tap the perfect avenue of self-expression and
fun physical fitness for tiny dancers ages 3-6yrs.

Lily Morton, Dance Intern for Ballet II and IIIA, has trained in dance for ten years,
starting at age five. She currently attends classes four days a week at the Ballet
Studio and is an advanced level dancer studying Ballet and pointe, Broadway Jazz
and Modern Jazz/Horton technique.
Native to Alexandria, Lily attends T.C. Williams High School. As a Dance Intern, she
is the teaching assistant for Level II Ballet and Ballet IIIA w/ pre pointe. Her years of
dedicated training offer beginner and advance beginner students a sound
perspective on key areas of ballet technique that will help them meet and exceed
their ballet goals.
